The Guardians traded infielder Yu Chang to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday for cash.

Chang had been designated for assignment last week.

Once a promising prospect for Cleveland, the 26-year-old Chang played in just four games for the Guardians this season and struck out seven times in 10 at-bats. 

The Cleveland Guardians have acquired right-hander Yohan Ramirez from the Seattle Mariners for cash or a player to be named.

Ramirez, 27, made seven appearances for the Mariners this season and was immediately optioned to Triple-A Columbus.

The Houston Astros acquired utilityman Mauricio Dubón in a trade with the San Francisco Giants on Saturday.

The 27-year-old Dubón is batting .239 with two homers and eight RBIs in 21 games this season. He has big league experience at second base, third base, shortstop and center field.

The Giants received minor league catcher Michael Papierski in the deal. Papierski was assigned to Triple-A Sacramento.
